Restaurants
Bramhall's - Very good quality restaurant on the Buxton hill in Ashbourne. It is popular so booking is recommended. Medium – high prices but value for money.
Telephone 01335 346158.
The Dining Room – High class, creative food in a small restaurant in the middle of Ashbourne. We like it very much but prices are high so it is special occasion dining. Booking recommended as there are only a few tables.

Callow Hall – An excellent, family run country house hotel with fine dining restaurant. It is just outside of Ashbourne on the road to Mappleton. High standards in a traditional English establishment but with prices to match. For special occasions – booking recommended.

Lamplight – A moderately priced, but pleasant restaurant in the centre of Ashbourne, Victoria Square.

The Red Lion, Hognaston - Telephone 01335 370396
The Shire Horse, Wyaston – Telehpone 01335 342714
In addition to the 3 ‘gastropubs' above, there are many good pubs in and around Ashbourne and further into the peak District. We mention just a few:
Shoulder Of Mutton – This is the nearest pub. It is in the village of Osmaston just ½ mile away. It serves traditional pub grub at reasonable prices. It is a good pub in a lovely village setting – worth a visit. Very nice garden to sit out in during the summer. Usually busy for Sunday lunch
Saracen's Head – Another very pleasant country pub in the nearby village of Shirley. Turn left out of our property and take the first turn right towards Shirley. Can also be busy for Sunday lunch.
Coach and Horses – A pub we often visit after a walk. It is in the village of Fenny Bentley (on the Buxton road 2 miles out of Ashbourne). Nice ambience and good food. Please click on the relevant establishment for further details Take aways

Bengal Cottage - Telephone 01335 348282. Our preferred Indian restaurant. Located on Compton in Ashbourne. It does not have a license to serve alcohol although you can take drinks with you.
